And, the Financial Times Top 400 Advisors rankings are based on data provided by investment firms. Factors include assets under management, experience, industry certifications and compliance record. Investment performance and financial advisor productions are not explicit components.
Forbes rankings of America’s Top Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative and quantitative data, rating thousands of wealth advisors with a minimum of seven years of experience and weighing factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and best practices learned through telephone and in-person interviews. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Neither Forbes nor SHOOK receives a fee in exchange for the rankings.

NABCAP’s 2012 Premier Advisor evaluation and ranking program is an independent third-party assessment based on 20 categories of practice management, including experience, education, cost and investment planning. Participants are objectively compared and evaluated numerically. A minimum score must be attained for a practice to be considered for the final list. Winners are listed in alphabetical order. There is no cost for advisors to participate. The rating is not representative of any on client’s experience and is not indicative of past or future investment performance. The 2007 Charlotte Business Journal’s ranking of wealth advisers in the region is the result of a partnership with The Winner’s Circle and its founder, R.J. Shook. The Winner’s Circle team received more than 7,000 nominations of high-performing financial advisers nationwide from securities firms, banks, independent firms and others. Of the nominees from the Charlotte region, The Winner’s Circle team analyzed quantitative and qualitative criteria, including assets managed, revenue, industry experience, compliance history and discussions with management. Client portfolio performance was not a criteria. From this data and in-person interviews with the nominees, The Winner’s Circle selected 20 top wealth managers from the Charlotte region. Profiles of the advisers ranked in the top five are in this section. The Winner’s Circle, which has published similar lists in Barron’s, is an advocacy organization independent of the firms in the rankings in this project. The Florida-based group does not receive compensation from the more than 100 participating firms or their affiliates, financial advisers or the media for the rankings.
